About Tony Paterson

Tony is a teacher qualified as a Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Education. He also holds a Diploma of Multimedia, and has taught computer design subjects since 1989.

He worked for TAFE Queensland in several institutes including Southbank (for 10 years) and Moreton (now Metropolitan South). He has taught in Hobart, Longreach, Rockhampton, Townsville, Mackay, Dysart and Cairns.

Tony was an early implementer of online learning systems both while at TAFE and later, he designed and developed online learning courses. He taught many developers who now work fulltime in that industry. He has developed online learning courses for Telstra linesman and cable Internet technicians, amongst others.

Tony has been a guest lecturer at universities including Central Queensland, Griffith, and University of Queensland.

Tony is also a portrait artist, who has worked in Canada and has commissions in Portugal, Jordan, USA, and around Australia.

One theme has run consistently throughout Tony's career. That is integrity. Tony has strived to work to the best of his ability in everything that he attempted, often to the detriment of his income. He believes that if you do your best, you can always hold your head high.

And so it is, that in teaching, Tony will give you his best. He will ensure your satisfaction in every business dealing you have with him. He believes that if you are satisfied, he is justified in expecting referrals and testimonials.

One thing that Tony noticed in his long career, is that integrity of education and training is not always forthcoming by the major providers. It also didn't necessarily follow that teaching institutions were in themselves smart operators.

They have succumbed to the slow grind of the bureaucracies that created them, then demanded profits in the face of inefficiency. Tony chose to leave that dilemma, and offer what unfortunately is becoming unique in education - quality learning.
