Checking the clarity of the image

This image, although a lovely example of a beautiful couple, is too small. it is about 480 pixels high - less than one inch (2cm) at 600ppi - and that's the whole image! Unfortunately it is not suitable for copying as a sketch.

Note the small white rectangle on the girl's face. That would be about the area that would be sketched. When the photo is cropped to the size of the rectangle, and enlarged, it looks like this:

You can easily see that the image unfortunately is not going to work - there is not enough detail to copy from.

Suggestions for best image results

This image should have been scanned at the highest resolution the scanner could manage, up to 1200dpi. When you view yours on your screen it should take up most of the height of the screen, or preferably larger. It should be saved in "high quality" JPEG or JPG format.
